Terms and Conditions

ACCOMMODATION

The cats are housed in spacious, centrally heated, full height separate chalets each with their own run. There is a generous space between each chalet so that, while each cat can see its neighbour, there can be no direct contact. The chalets are built to the standards required by the local authority and to specification of the Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB).

BEDS

Every feline friend that visits us will be supplied with an adequate sized bed accompanied with soft vet bedding to make their stay as comfortable as possible. Should you as the cats owner choose to bring your own cats bed / bedding, please feel free to do so. This may after all settle your cat for its stay with us.

CARRYING BASKET

It is unwise to bring your cat into a strange environment without the security of a suitable cat carrier. Cats without the appropriate carriage will not be accepted into the cattery.

FEEDING

Individual tastes are catered for at ‘Chalet Cats'. Each cat will be fed according to the owner's directions. Branded food and biscuits will be provided which will be prepared in hygienic conditions. Special diets will be catered for usually at no extra cost. Prescription diets can be maintained during your cats visit but we request that you bring this food with you. Regular mealtimes are adhered to. Adult cats are fed twice a day, whereas kittens and seniors are fed according to their requirements.

HEALTH

No cat suffering from, or suspected to be suffering from any infectious or contagious disease can be accepted. All cats will be examined on arrival and the proprietor reserves the right to refuse admission to any cat showing signs of illness pending advice from a Veterinary Surgeon. Owners will appreciate that this is essential in order to safeguard the health and wellbeing of all the cats staying with us at ‘Chalet Cats'. Veterinary attendance is assured, should this prove to be necessary. Also, any medication, previously prescribed, can be continued during your cats stay. Male cats over the age of 7months must be neutered before being allowed to board with us. This is due to the fact that they can present an infection hazard. All cats must be vaccinated against FELINE INFECTIOUS ENTERITIS and UPPER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTIONS (cat flu). If your cat is allowed outdoors you are strongly recommended to have a leukaemia vaccination, but this is not a compulsory requirement for boarding your cat with us. Owners must produce an up to date vaccination certificate on arrival that will be retained by us during your cats stay.

BOOKINGS

Definite bookings should be made as early as possible. It is helpful if firm dates and times of arrival are given, together with an up to date information on your cat (existing customers) or FULL details, age, sex, likes and dislikes along with details of cats normal diet for new boarders.

TERMS

Whilst every effort will be made to maintain the current charges it is inevitable that they need adjusting periodically to maintain our very high standard of boarding. A FULL DAYS BOARD is charged for the day of arrival AND the day of departure. This is to allow for the essential disinfecting and preparation of the chalet. We have a MINIMUM boarding fee of £35 boarding. For stays of indefinite duration, 21 days notice of departure is required between 1 st April and 30 th September.Payment of boarding fees will be made on collection of your cat. However in the case of long term boarders, accounts will be paid monthly. In the event of owners arriving late (next day) or returning early from holiday the FULL PERIOD for which the cat is booked will be charged. At CHRISTMAS, NEW YEAR and EASTER, the MINIMUM FEE will be the equivalent of 7 DAYS BOOKING. If a booking is CANCELLED with LESS than 14 DAYS NOTICE a cancellation fee of half the cats intended stay would be charged. With less than 7 DAYS NOTICE £35 OR 75% of TOTAL BOARDING FEE will be charged (whichever the greater).

Please note that over the Christmas and New Year period(s) a minimum stay of seven days boarding will be charged.  Between the dates of December 25th and January 1st (inclusive) an additional daily charge of £1 will also be applied.

Fees can be paid only in CASH or CHEQUE accompanied by a valid cheque guarantee card (we do not have the facilities to process debit or credit cards).
