Welcome everyone to 'Chalet Cats Boarding Cattery', Wakefield's newest and only Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB) listed cattery in Wakefield itself. May I take this opportunity to show you a few photographs of our cattery and some of our residents, past and present. Chalet Cats is a family operated small business and along with myself Marie, works two very loyal ladies, one of which is my mother, Val and the second lady, Diane. At this time we have twenty eight working chalet's and two isolation units. Our working units consist of six 'family' units (holds upto 4 cats) and twenty two 'standard' (upto 2 cats).

These Are the isolation units... the reason we have these is because if whilst a cat is staying with us falls ill. We would remove them from the main body of the cattery and 'isolate' them for the well being of themselves and the other residents around them. We originally built fifteen chalet's and have now extended to twenty eight (thirty including these two isolation units). We were cautious at first, but the demand was great, so we extended.

After each cat has stayed with us, the chalet, beds / bedding, shelves.. well everything actually has to be scrubbed and disinfected from top to bottom. What you see here is the our workstation where the 'bleaching' and 'disinfecting' takes place. This has its own supply of hot and cold running water. Everything is scrubbed, allowed to dry naturally and then disinfected.

This is the other view of the workstation and isolation area. We have a generous sized storeroom where we keep all the litters, bedding etc..  Because of the ground levels we've had to  create two work stations. This one and the second in the extention run itself. Regardless thought the same process takes place at both stations ensuring that everything is bleached and disinfected correctly. All our Chalet's have insulated walls. floors and roof's. They are heated and this is controlled by an electronic thermostat.

Whenever a cat or cats come to stay with us you can be rest assured that they will be treated with as much love and affection as if they were at home.
